How to begin? Keep it simple. Start with an average of $50-$100/day of profit, or $1,000/month. You don't need to hit home runs to make a successful career in Trading. Staying alive in this profession is more important than making unrealistic gains in a short time. You do that by using the smallest of size, 1-2* micros. Why such a small size? This protects you from blowing up the account quickly and stay in the game for longer. Most prop firm evaluations require us to make 150% gains ($3,000 with a $2,000 of drawdown) in a month to pass. It might not seem much in numbers but in percentage, that's a huge gain. If you can make $,1000/month on a $2,000 drawdown, that's already a 50% gain.
So what does $50-$100/day in 1 micro translate to?
- 10-20 pts in MES
- 25-50 pts in MNQ
- 100-200 pts in MYM

Your number one job is to survive. Never risk more than 1% per trade. Always use a Daily Loss Limit. Prop firm rules aren't the enemy - they're your training wheels for building real discipline that lasts.
